Premium SMS messages are paid by de mobile phone user ("Reverse Billing") at a higher rate (eg. 1 EUR/SMS). The retribution for the service provider typically consists of 30 to 50%.

Via our userfriendly web interface you send and receive Premium SMS messages from your PC. You can also integrate Premium SMS services in your website or internet application via the MobileWeb.be SMS Gateway.



Shared or Dedicated Shortcode

Premium SMS messages are SMS messages send to a short number ("shortcode"), eg. 3339. Each shortcode has one Premium SMS rate, ranging from 0,25 to 4 EUR/SMS. Furthermore there are also so-called "green" shortcodes (comparable with 0800 phone lines).

Via MobileWeb.be you choose between your own dedicated shortcode or a keyword on one of our shared shortcodes.

Dedicated shortcode: all messages sent or received through your shortcode are delivered exclusively to you. MobileWeb.be takes care of the activation and communication with the 3 Belgian mobile operators (Base, Mobistar and Proximus).

Keyword on shared shortcode: here you reserve a keyword on one of the shared shortcodes of MobileWeb.be. All incoming messages on a shortcode beginning with your keyword will be delivered to you.

In 2008, the number plan for Belgian SMS shortcodes was modified. The shortcode range now determines the type of SMS service. More details about the number plan here.
